Lanterns Lacking in Luminosity

This is one lantern.

This is a bunch of them before I began the quilting. The quilt is called
"Paper Lanterns."

I'm trying to put a different quilting design in each of the lanterns, and I'm running out of any ideas. If you have any, I'd LOVE to hear from you, please!!! Ronda? Vicki? Carla? Dolly? Susan? Mark? Ami? Anybody?

  1. What goes inside a lantern? A flame.

  2. I'd find a book of Japanese crests and put a different one in each lantern.

  3. I don;t think I would do something different in each lantern I would keep them the same and do a different background fill around them.... How about a curved crosshatch motif inside the lanterns... Just my opinion, you get what you pay for

  4. I was thinking about different fills with and Asian feel - something like sashiko patterns.

  5. I like your Lantern quilt that you are working on. Any variation of a log cabin is a good quilt.
