ReplyDeleteVernor's (ginger ale) was the first pop made in the U.S., and was created in Detroit! Found that little tidbit out when I was REALLY sick in Michigan at Christmastime LOL!
ReplyDeleteAs for what state I am from, that's a bit different! I was born in Phoenix, grew up in Illinois, and now live in Texas (with quite a few states in between!)

ReplyDeleteHi Caron,
ReplyDeleteWhat I know about Michigan is that it is a part of the Great Lake States, and that your capital is Lansing.

ReplyDeleteWhat I know about Michigan?...the Univ of Mich is there where my son is in his 3rd year of residency, plus I know it's very far away from where I live.
ReplyDeleteThe one great thing I know about the Great State of Michigan is that my husband was born there. LOL We met online in 2000 and because he is from Holland, I can say the absolute best time to visit that area is during the Tulip Festival in Holland. OR if you can't stand the crowds because there are a HUGE amount of people that go for that, go just before the festival and the tulips are all over that town. It's absoultely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI live in the great presidential state of Virginia! It's a history lover's paradise. But it's also too far away from Michigan, especially when my only grandson lives there!
ReplyDeleteI just became a follower.
ReplyDeletePlaces in Michigan that are extremely cold that I've visited are Detroit and Ann Arbor. The wind coming off Lake Michigan and the waters are very cold. RFD TV has a weekly digest on Michigan. I am a Floridian. I do not have a blog.

ReplyDeleteI live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in the amazing state of Washington.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through Jaybird Quilts and I'm so glad I did. I signed up as a follower, too, however, I don't have a blog so I guess that disqualifies me for the giveaway :( I am from MI originally (Bay City to be exact) and my family still lives there so we try to visit at least once a year. I've lived in a lot of states, including IL, CA, SC, TX, and PA, which is where I live now. I know a lot of trivia about MI because I grew up there. Beautiful state :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my all-time favorite movies is "Somewhere In Time". It was filmed on Mackinac Island. I always thought it would be great to go there and visit, and found it was located in the gerat state of Michigan. No cars allowed. Cool!
