I love quilts that offer lots of room for hand quilting. I’m pondering this pattern, making it with as few seams as possible to facilitate easier quilting. So I think I will hand piece it… Now to choose colors and draft the design to size… for a queen size bed.
Here’s one I found on Google Images… if you click on it it will enlarge it so you can see the fantastic quilting.
If you know who made this quilt, please let me know so I can give due credit! It is fabulous!
I wonder what colors I should choose to go in my bedroom?
You're right, the quilting on that is really spectacular - this is a lovely pattern.
ReplyDeleteWhat spectacular quilting! I wonder who did all that work?
ReplyDeleteI think some deep red would look lovely with your grey-toned bedroom. It would really warm it up.

Thanks for the comments... it doesn't really show it in the picture, but the walls in my room are a soft green.
ReplyDeleteI am assuming that quilt is a reproduction of one that's been haunting me for about 30 years! I remember seeing the antique quilt eons ago in a book and in a Country Living Magazine spread. It's always been a favorite of mine because of its bold color and design.
ReplyDeleteI say go for oranges, yellows and greens! Elaine

Her pattern uses half-square triangles so there are no set in seams. The cover of the book looks rectangular, but the design is really square, and easy to assemble!
Margo, that's a beautiful quilt! Thanks for providing the address. Set-in seams don't bother me in the least. I want to avoid as many seams as possible for hand quilting. I don't think it will be difficult to draft a pattern that I like. Still trying to decide on the colors.
